Math You Can Touch/Mathematik zum Anfassen

The Goethe-Institut, in collaboration with the world's first interactive mathematics museum, the Mathematikum in Gießen, Germany, brings the traveling exhibition “Math You Can Touch” to the Bay Area. We are very excited that the exhibit will be opened at GISSV Berkeley and be on display in our Hillside auditorium for one week!

The fun, interactive exhibition enables visitors to try out and think about a selection of proven and established experiments from the "Mathematikum".

"Math You Can Touch" is designed for everyone, from those who don’t want to have anything to do with math to those who think they already know everything. Through a playful approach that makes use of all the senses, visitors of all ages solve puzzles, build bridges, watch a sphere race, rack their brains unraveling riddles and create wonderful soap bubbles – and simultaneously discover mathematical phenomena.

With material and signage in both German and English, the exhibition is designed for the general public and those learning German.

The exhibition will be on display both at GISSV Berkeley and the Goethe-Institut, San Francisco.
