The GISSV Mountain View winter camp was a success! Students had fun and enjoyed learning about the cold season through experiments, arts, crafts and songs.
It (almost) snowed on campus when our winter camp students learned about the crystallization process of water. As part of the many hands-on camp activities around the theme "Winterwonderland," they grew crystals which they examined through a magnifying glass and used for experimenting with how light breaks up into colors before taking them home. Campers sang winter songs and got creative by making snowflake paper designs, creating snowpeople out of woolen pom-poms, building winter sceneries with mixed materials and making snowball piñatas. We also learned about animals during the winter and built animal shelters with natural materials. All in all, our winter camp was a full success!
