Requirements for Enrollment
The GISSV welcomes students from all cultural and ethnic backgrounds. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, color or nationally. Knowledge of the German language is expected from all children who enroll after 1st grade. If attendance at this school is not possible because of language barriers, we recommend our Saturday School or private tutors. As a school accredited by the German government the GISSV can also integrate students coming from Germany during the ongoing school year.
Enrollment terms
In general, enrollment starts between January and March of each year for the upcoming school year. Space permitting, enrollment is possible throughout the school year.
Enrollment for school/preschool
The following documents need to be provided at the time of enrollment:
- Application form Enrollment form for school or preschool (Mountain View or Berkeley)
- Society membership application
- Copy of child’s passport
- Copy of child’s international vaccination record
- Copies of child’s report card when entering at beginning of semester or school year: the last report card and the last final report card when entering during the school year: final report card grading the student’s performance prior to leaving the school when entering secondary school: recommendation of school type (Gymnasium, Realschule or Hauptschule)
