Brett brings nearly twenty years of experience across science, business, manufacturing operations, risk management, and entrepreneurship to the Board. He holds a PhD in biomedical engineering from Tulane University, with additional studies at Australia's Swinburne University and at Stanford. Prior to co-founding Halo he developed and brought to market implantable brain stimulators to treat epilepsy and other disorders, and he is a US registered patent agent and prolific inventor.

Although of Swiss German descent, Brett is not a native German speaker and is glad to be learning along with his wife and daughters. He and his family live in San Francisco.
