GISSV High School Day 2018
GISSV High School Day 2018

The second high school day was a huge success and a lot of fun for everyone involved!

All students from grades 9-12 came together to talk about common issues, prepare for upcoming events and enjoy this time to bond with each other.

The first part of the day was the introduction of the ePortfolio by Mr. Krebs, Ms. Wenk and Mr. Geus. This is an opportunity for the students to showcase their accomplishments in academics and extracurriculars. Some students from grades 11 and 12 presented examples from their own lives, and it was amazing to witness what extraordinary achievements our students have already reached.

The second part of the day was a workshop on economics and mindfulness. Mr. Lentzen and an outside expert, Walter Roth, showed the students how to work and live mindfully. There were lots of practical exercises that the students can now take home and practice on their own. "Internal Selfies", here we come!

The third session revolved around workshops for the individual grade level. Grades 9 and 10 worked on the idea of academic integrity with the help of Ms. Guidotti and Mr. Lentzen; grade 11 and 12 received an overview of what is to come in terms of their Abitur by Ms. Roessel, Ms. Ludwig, and Ms. Jungeblut.

In the end, all students got to enjoy a performance by the high school band and a spectacular color celebration.

Thank you very much to everyone who made sure this became a great day.
