GISSV 12th grade student was named National Merit Program Semifinalist.
The National Merit Scholarship® Program is an annual academic competition for recognition and college undergraduate scholarships. Scholarship winners are chosen on the basis of their abilities, skills, and accomplishments - without regard to gender, race, ethic origin, or religious preference. Each year, more than 1.6 million students in more than 22,000 high schools provide the opportunity for their students to participate in the National Merit Scholarship Program. 50,000 qualify for program recognition, and about 8,700 receive scholarships for college undergraduate study.
