11 GISSV students attended the 66th annual session of the Berkeley Model United Nations (BMUN) on the UC Berkeley campus, along with 1,900 other high school students from around the world. This year the conference proudly hosted 21 committees that involved a wide range of topics from technological, environmental, and cultural issues. Over the span of three days, the students represented diplomats from the countries Uruguay and Qatar and were involved in intensive debate and resolution writing on topics such as: International Black Market and Currency Valuation, Protection of Indigenous Minorities, and the Proliferation of Nuclear, Chemical, and Biological Weapons. Many of the students successfully sponsored resolutions to the demanding crisis and actively participated in solving global issues in debate, as well as paper form. The club would like to thank the patient and inspiring teachers Mr. Lentzen and Ms. Guidotti for spending their valuable weekend with them. This conference wouldn't have been possible without their mentoring and diligent work.
