About
- Welcome to GISSV
  The German International School of Silicon Valley is an independent, nonprofit preschool–grade 12 school with two locations in the San Francisco Bay Area.
- Learning in German and English
  Our high-quality dual-immersion education helps students reach their full potential in a stimulating environment that fosters critical and imaginative thinking, a passion for lifelong learning and an appreciation for cultural diversity.
Admissions
- Meeting Students’ Needs From Preschool Through High School
  GISSV welcomes students of all cultural and ethnic backgrounds. We serve students from two to eighteen years old.
- Enrollment
  The enrollment period begins during the months of January and February of each year for the upcoming school year. We also accept new students throughout the school year based on availability. Knowledge of the German language is required for all children who enroll after 1st grade (See also our German Fast Track Program).

Guest Researcher on Mountain View Campus

We have been honored to have Simona Szakács Behling, a researcher from the Georg Eckert Institute for International Textbook Research.

Dr. Szakács is here to collect data for a larger GlobalDAS research project comparing Deutsche Auslandsschulen from around the World.

GISSV is proud to be one of seven schools worldwide that were chosen to participate in this project which specifically looks at global citizenship education practices and the use of digital media in international schools.

Dr. Szakács has been observing classes, as well as interviewing both teachers and students. She was impressed with what she saw, especially all the ongoing projects and has asked GISSV to participate in a special video to celebrate the 50th anniversary of ZfA (Zentralstelle für das Auslandsschulwesen). We are excited to have this wonderful opportunity!

We have enjoyed having Dr. Szakács here at GISSV and wish her a safe journey back home to Germany!
