7th Graders Explore Rap & Storytelling

Our Mountain View 7th graders explored storytelling, creativity, and the cultural roots of Hip Hop during an engaging rap workshop with Performing Arts Educator Veronica Talton.

Last Friday, our 7th grade students at the Mountain View campus participated in an exciting rap workshop led by Performing Arts Educator Veronica Talton.

Through interactive activities and creative exercises, students explored the art of storytelling through Hip Hop and Rap. They learned about the origins and cultural significance of Hip Hop while discovering the different elements that make up this influential art form, including rhythm, rhyme, DJing, breakdancing, graffiti art, and MCing.

The workshop encouraged students to express themselves creatively as they composed and performed their own rap verses. By combining music, history, and personal storytelling, the session gave students a deeper appreciation for Hip Hop as both an artistic and cultural movement.

This engaging experience highlighted the power of creative expression and gave students a unique opportunity to connect storytelling with music and performance.
