Thanks to our Holiday Market volunteers, we could come together in person as a community to celebrate.
A scaled-down, covid-safe version of the German Holiday Market took place on Saturday, December 11, 2022 at the Mountain View Caltrain station parking lot.
Our Holiday Market 2021 was a huge success!
Thousands of people came to celebrate an authentic German "Weihnachtsmarkt" with us. Once again an amazing event!
The entertainment schedule showcased our school community's many talents - on stage and on screen, the food and drinks were delicious, the amusement games, crafts and activities were thoroughly enjoyed by our youngest guests and the selection of toys, ornaments, sweet treats and all the vendors who sold a variety of handmade items made for a unique and fun holiday (shopping) experience.
Thank you to all the helping hands! It is truly amazing what the combined efforts of every member of our school community can accomplish. From being part of the event preparation to helping us to spread the word, investing your time to volunteer at the event, performing, set-up and take down the Holiday Market (and returning on Sunday to unload the trucks at school) and simply attending and showing your enthusiasm for the market and GISSV—you all played an important part in the day's success.
Our deepest thank you goes to the phenomenal Holiday Market team leaders whose tireless dedication, hard work and positive spirit made this blockbuster event come to life.
A special thank you to Mayor Ellen Kamei and Consul General Oliver Schramm for officially opening the Holiday Market together with our Board Chair Dr. Horst Groesser, and Head of School Kathrin Roeschel.
Thank you also to our students for enthusiastically participating in the market. And a big thank you to all our teachers and staff who helped prepare for and host the market. This event was proof of our outstanding school community. Thank you again!
