- Welcome to GISSV
  The German International School of Silicon Valley is an independent, nonprofit preschool–grade 12 school with two locations in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Admissions
- Meeting Students’ Needs From Preschool Through High School
  GISSV welcomes students of all cultural and ethnic backgrounds. We serve students from two to eighteen years old.
- Enrollment
  The enrollment period begins during the months of January and February of each year for the upcoming school year. We also accept new students throughout the school year based on availability. Knowledge of the German language is required for all children who enroll after 1st grade (See also our German Fast Track Program).

Community Shines at our 10th SF Laternenfest

Our annual SF Laternenfest filled the evening with warmth, music, and community as families came together to celebrate this beloved tradition.

Last Friday (11/7/2025), our 10th annual SF Laternenfest lit up the evening with joy and a strong sense of community. Thanks to the dedication of our parent organizers and the support of staff and family helpers, the celebration had a wonderfully welcoming atmosphere.

Families enjoyed glowing lanterns, the timeless story of St. Martin’s compassion, charming student performances, delicious German food, hands-on lantern crafting, and a magical parade through the streets of Eureka Valley. Musicians from the Deutscher Musikverein (DMV) accompanied the parade with traditional Laternenfest songs and continued to perform on campus afterward, adding to the festive spirit.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed to making this special celebration shine.
