About
- Welcome to GISSV
  The German International School of Silicon Valley is an independent, nonprofit preschool–grade 12 school with two locations in the San Francisco Bay Area.
- Learning in German and English
  Our high-quality dual-immersion education helps students reach their full potential in a stimulating environment that fosters critical and imaginative thinking, a passion for lifelong learning and an appreciation for cultural diversity.
Admissions
- Meeting Students’ Needs From Preschool Through High School
  GISSV welcomes students of all cultural and ethnic backgrounds. We serve students from two to eighteen years old.
- Enrollment
  The enrollment period begins during the months of January and February of each year for the upcoming school year. We also accept new students throughout the school year based on availability. Knowledge of the German language is required for all children who enroll after 1st grade (See also our German Fast Track Program).

  Our well-balanced program provides rich project-based and differentiated learning experiences, fostering interests across all subject areas as well as social-emotional competency, critical thinking, artistic expression and physical motor skills.

A Celebration to Remember: 25 Years of GISSV

Our Anniversary Community Fest at Coyote Ranch brought together families, alumni, and staff to mark 25 years of GISSV.

On Sunday, September 14, the GISSV community came together at Coyote Ranch to celebrate the school’s 25th Anniversary – a milestone that was marked with joy, gratitude, and togetherness.

Current families, alumni families, and current and former teachers and staff joined in for an afternoon that reflected the heart of our community. Highlights included speeches from the Deputy Consul General, our Head of School, and our Board President, a lively performance by the teacher band, and the cutting of a beautiful four-layer birthday cake by two community members who have been part of GISSV for more than 20 years.

Children enjoyed a variety of activities, families spent quality time together, and the atmosphere throughout the day was one of warmth and connection.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who joined us for this special celebration. A special thank you goes to our dedicated organizing team, whose hard work made the day possible, and to the families whose kind words made their efforts even more meaningful.
