After attending the Berlin & Beyond Film Festival, GISSV students got the chance to meet lead actor of "The Ordinaries" Noah Tinwa.
Last Friday our 10th graders attended the Berlin & Beyond Film Festival in San Francisco to watch "The Ordinaries," the winner of the 2023 Youth 4 German Cinema Award. "Sophie Linnenbaum's feature film debut is a sci-fi spotlight on inequality. In the imaginative German sci-fi tragicomedy, she challenges the constrictive narratives of an unequal society." (IMDb) The film premiered on the West Coast after its US debut at SXSW and will be released in German theaters on March 30, 2023.
The students very much enjoyed the movie and even got the opportunity to meet actor Noah Tinwa. Today the young actor visited us at our Mountain View Campus for an informal "Q&A session"! Noah shared insightful thoughts about his career and the movie, which was a real treat for all of us. Thank you, Noah, for taking the time to join us and make this day special!
The Youth 4 German Cinema program is presented by the Goethe-Institut San Francisco ‘s Berlin & Beyond Film Festival, a prominent showcase for contemporary German cinema in the Americas. Don't miss the festival, which runs until March 28!
