Transatlantic AI Project Kickoff

Transatlantic AI Project Kickoff

Last week, we kicked off this year’s High School AI Project with GISSV and the Evangelisch Stiftisches Gymnasium Gütersloh (ESG Gütersloh).

Martin Lentzen, Economics teacher at GISSV and expert in design thinking, and Daniela Behrendt, a GISSV parent and EduScrum coach, introduced the students to agile thinking and working. Based on the lecture series with the Hasso-Plattner Institute, the 24 tenth graders from GISSV and ESG will be developing a project within the future-oriented technology of Artificial Intelligence and Big Data.

The teachers in the subjects Ethics, Economics, and Computer Science (Michael Koppitz, Martin Lentzen, Jenny Jungeblut from GISSV and Kai Clamor from ESG) will be supporting the students in their work, introducing them to key concepts related to their topic and being available as experts in their subject area.

In the next 4 weeks, the students will be doing stand-ups and are preparing for an elevator pitch in the middle of the project run to be able to gather valuable feedback for the next phase of their work. Stay tuned for a presentation of the results of their work in March!
