An Evening with a Silicon Valley Pioneer

An Evening with a Silicon Valley Pioneer

GISSV computer science students attended the launch of GABA Northern California’s “Living Legends of Silicon Valley” series, featuring tech pioneer Andreas von Bechtolsheim.

Last Thursday (11/6/2025), our 11th and 12th grade computer science students had a remarkable opportunity: attending the launch of GABA Northern California’s Living Legends of Silicon Valley series with Andreas von Bechtolsheim, one of the most influential figures in Silicon Valley’s history.

Nearly 200 guests gathered at SAP’s Palo Alto AppHaus to hear from the visionary entrepreneur and technologist. Our students didn’t just listen to his insights—they actively participated by asking questions, engaging in conversations, and connecting what they have learned in class with real-world innovation.

Throughout the evening, Andreas emphasized the importance of curiosity, the drive to solve problems that are not yet obvious, and the willingness to take action. His message underscored a key idea: innovation is a continuous search for better solutions.

Experiences like this highlight the power of connecting classroom learning with the broader world of technology and entrepreneurship. We are grateful to everyone who helped make this inspiring evening possible.
