Double Success at Jugend forscht State Competition

Aarav and Viyona Singh (Grade 10) achieved top honors in both Jugend forscht and Jugend forscht junior at the Bavarian state competition—and are now heading to the national finals.

Aarav and Viyona Singh (Grade 10) celebrated outstanding success at the Bavarian state competition of Jugend forscht.

In the Jugend forscht (senior) category, they were awarded 1st place in Biology for their project “Peptide Doppelgängers: Limits of AlphaFold3 in Predicting Mirror-Image Therapeutics.” The project also received a special prize for Artificial Intelligence, highlighting its innovative approach at the intersection of biology and AI. With this achievement, they have qualified for the national competition (Bundesentscheid)—an extraordinary accomplishment, especially considering they are below the usual age level for this category.

In addition, in the Jugend forscht junior category, they won 1st place in Mathematics/Computer Science with their project “Acadmyne – A Personalized, Privacy-Secure AI Learning Platform.”

The national competition will take place at the end of May in Herzogenaurach, Germany.

Special thanks go to Sabine Hollatz for mentoring the biology/biochemistry project and to Sebastian Berk for guiding the computer science project.

We warmly congratulate Aarav and Viyona on this exceptional achievement and wish them continued success at the national level.
