April is Earth Month, and to celebrate, GISSV San Francisco organized a special Walk to School Day and participated in San Francisco's city-wide bike and roll to school week.
Over 80 school communities in San Francisco, with thousands of students, got active and involved!
"It was a huge success and so much fun to see students of various ages and their parents connect on their walk to school." said organizer, teacher Barbara Troy.
One special highlight was the homemade smoothies made by "kid-power" using the Fender Blender during lunch recess. We would like to thank parent Gerardo for putting it together and helping to operate it, as well as all the wonderful volunteers who guided the walking groups.
This event was made possible by the Sf Bike Coalition, who organized and supported the event and donated incentives to GISSV for everyone who walked, biked, or rolled to school today.
