GISSV students experienced democracy in action! As part of the Juniorwahl project, they took part in a mock election for the German Bundestag.
Last week, our History Department transformed both campuses into election hubs as students from grades 6 to 12 participated in the Juniorwahl—a mock Junior Parliamentary Election for the German Bundestag. This project, organized by Kumulus e.V., is designed to engage students in political education by offering a realistic voting experience.
After casting their ballots, students counted the votes, and the final results were submitted to the German Federal Agency for Civic Education. These results were then added to the nationwide tally of participating schools, providing students with valuable insights into the electoral process and the role of civic engagement.
By taking part in this initiative, students not only learned about democracy but also actively experienced it—preparing them to become informed and engaged citizens in the future.
