- Welcome to GISSV
  The German International School of Silicon Valley is an independent, nonprofit preschool–grade 12 school with two locations in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Admissions
- Meeting Students’ Needs From Preschool Through High School
  GISSV welcomes students of all cultural and ethnic backgrounds. We serve students from two to eighteen years old.
- Enrollment
  The enrollment period begins during the months of January and February of each year for the upcoming school year. We also accept new students throughout the school year based on availability. Knowledge of the German language is required for all children who enroll after 1st grade (See also our German Fast Track Program).

  Our well-balanced program provides rich project-based and differentiated learning experiences, fostering interests across all subject areas as well as social-emotional competency, critical thinking, artistic expression and physical motor skills.

First Days ’25: Welcoming Our Students to the New School

Our dedicated teachers welcomed both returning and new students with activities designed to help them feel at home in the GISSV community.

Last week, we kicked off the new school year with excitement, fun, and the energy of a fresh start!

Secondary students launched the year with Middle School and High School Days—full of bonding, team challenges, and plenty of laughter. (Can you spot the G-I-S-S-V letters they formed with their bodies?)

Kindergarteners and first graders marked the beginning of their school adventure with joyful celebrations.

From first-day traditions to special classroom moments, these milestones made the transition into their new learning environment both exciting and memorable—sparking curiosity and laying the foundation for a year of growth and discovery.
