- Welcome to GISSV
  The German International School of Silicon Valley is an independent, nonprofit preschool–grade 12 school with two locations in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Admissions
- Meeting Students’ Needs From Preschool Through High School
  GISSV welcomes students of all cultural and ethnic backgrounds. We serve students from two to eighteen years old.
- Enrollment
  The enrollment period begins during the months of January and February of each year for the upcoming school year. We also accept new students throughout the school year based on availability. Knowledge of the German language is required for all children who enroll after 1st grade (See also our German Fast Track Program).

Flag Raising Ceremony at San Francisco City Hall

GISSV was honored to be part of the German flag raising ceremony commemorating German Unity Day.

On Monday, October 4 staff of the German Consulate General and members of the German community gathered for a festive flag raising ceremony overlooking Civic Center Plaza. Members of GACC West, the Goethe-Institut San Francisco, the Kiel-SF Sister City Partnership, GISSV, and others were representing their communities.

German Consul General Oliver Schramm and Mark Chandler, Director of the Mayor's Office of International Trade and Commerce met with key partners that strengthen the German-American partnership, and spoke of the deep roots of the German-American relationship, going back to the early days of San Francisco in the mid 1800s. GISSV is proud to help continue this tradition in the Bay Area.
