From Classroom to Global Innovation

Grade 10 students experience cutting-edge ideas and global pitching at Falling Walls Lab San Francisco Bay Area 2026.

Grade 10 students and members of the Entrepreneurship Club recently attended the Falling Walls Lab San Francisco Bay Area 2026, hosted by DWIH San Francisco in collaboration with partners including DAAD and the German Consulate General.

Part of a global competition, Falling Walls Lab brings together students and early-career professionals to present breakthrough ideas in just three minutes—tackling some of today’s most pressing challenges with creativity and precision.

Students experienced the dynamic “Breaking the Wall” pitches firsthand, including the winning presentation by MinJae Kim, who introduced an innovative solution to reduce energy consumption in digital displays—potentially enabling brighter screens with significantly lower power usage.

Beyond the presentations, the event offered valuable insights into the art of ideation, the power of concise and compelling pitching, and the importance of professional networking in an international setting.

The visit was organized by faculty members Stefanie Wenk and Cornelia Guss together with Mubarak Mohamoud, Head of Economics. The school was also pleased to be represented by Dr. Frauke Ritter, who served as a judge and provided students with a unique perspective on what it takes to stand out in a highly competitive field.

The school extends its sincere thanks to the organizers for inviting our students to be part of this inspiring event.

Experiences like these highlight the school’s commitment to connecting classroom learning with real-world innovation and empowering students to engage with the ideas shaping the future.
