About
- Welcome to GISSV
  The German International School of Silicon Valley is an independent, nonprofit preschool–grade 12 school with two locations in the San Francisco Bay Area.
- Learning in German and English
  Our high-quality dual-immersion education helps students reach their full potential in a stimulating environment that fosters critical and imaginative thinking, a passion for lifelong learning and an appreciation for cultural diversity.
Admissions
- Meeting Students’ Needs From Preschool Through High School
  GISSV welcomes students of all cultural and ethnic backgrounds. We serve students from two to eighteen years old.
- Enrollment
  The enrollment period begins during the months of January and February of each year for the upcoming school year. We also accept new students throughout the school year based on availability. Knowledge of the German language is required for all children who enroll after 1st grade (See also our German Fast Track Program).

  Our well-balanced program provides rich project-based and differentiated learning experiences, fostering interests across all subject areas as well as social-emotional competency, critical thinking, artistic expression and physical motor skills.

GISSV Celebrates St. Patrick’s Day at the SF Parade

GISSV families and teachers joined the vibrant St. Patrick’s Day Parade in San Francisco, bringing school spirit and festive fun back to this annual tradition.

This past Saturday, GISSV families and teachers proudly participated in the San Francisco St. Patrick’s Day Parade—a tradition we’re excited to bring back after a few years! 💚☘️ The parade was a wonderful opportunity for the GISSV community to come together and showcase our school spirit as we joined the festivities alongside thousands of other San Francisco residents.

It was an extra special moment for all involved, as our participation marked a return to the vibrant event, and the energy of the day was truly felt by everyone. Our families and staff marched with smiles, spreading joy and pride in our school community.

A heartfelt thank you goes out to all who joined in, and we’d like to offer a special shout-out to Stefanie Wenk, our Director of the SF Campus, and her family, who made the day even more memorable by bringing along their iconic green VW bus! It was a perfect addition to the colorful parade, and we are so grateful for their enthusiasm and support.

We look forward to continuing this fun tradition in the future and are already excited for next year’s celebration!
