About
- Welcome to GISSV
  The German International School of Silicon Valley is an independent, nonprofit preschool–grade 12 school with two locations in the San Francisco Bay Area.
- Learning in German and English
  Our high-quality dual-immersion education helps students reach their full potential in a stimulating environment that fosters critical and imaginative thinking, a passion for lifelong learning and an appreciation for cultural diversity.
Admissions
- Meeting Students’ Needs From Preschool Through High School
  GISSV welcomes students of all cultural and ethnic backgrounds. We serve students from two to eighteen years old.
- Enrollment
  The enrollment period begins during the months of January and February of each year for the upcoming school year. We also accept new students throughout the school year based on availability. Knowledge of the German language is required for all children who enroll after 1st grade (See also our German Fast Track Program).

Three GISSV early childhood leaders share their expertise at the Kita-Onlinekongress, a German-language conference focused on preschool and kindergarten education.

Professional learning is an essential part of high-quality education—and at GISSV, it extends well beyond the classroom. This spring, three members of our early childhood leadership team are contributing their expertise to the Kita-Onlinekongress (April 20 – May 15), a German-language conference for educators working in preschool and kindergarten settings.

Morena Waack (Head of Kibili MV), Angelika Schilli (Head of Student Support Team), and Marie-Louise Nastke (Assistant Head of Kibili MV) have each authored expert articles as part of this year’s congress program. Their contributions reflect both their deep professional knowledge and GISSV’s ongoing commitment to excellence in early childhood education.

The Kita-Onlinekongress offers a diverse program of webinars, interviews, and expert talks, providing valuable insight into current developments and key topics in the field. Participants have access to all sessions during the conference period, with recordings available through June 30, 2026.

By engaging in international professional learning opportunities like this, GISSV educators continue to bring fresh perspectives and innovative ideas back into our classrooms—benefiting our students and the broader school community.
