Celebrating the dedication and innovation of our teaching community.
We are thrilled to announce that on March 31, 2025, at a distinguished ceremony in Berlin, our esteemed educators, Jenny Jungeblut and former teacher Martin Lentzen, were awarded 3rd place in the renowned "Deutscher Lehrkräftepreis – Unterricht innovativ" competition. This accolade recognizes their outstanding project, "Startup-Schmiede: Schüler lösen Probleme mit KI," which exemplifies the spirit of innovation and collaboration that defines our school community.
The award ceremony provided a wonderful opportunity for passionate educators from various regions to connect, share insights, and celebrate each other's achievements. It was a testament to the collective commitment to advancing education through creativity and dedication.
The Award-Winning Project: "Startup-Schmiede"
Under the guidance of Martin Lentzen and with significant contributions from Jenny Jungeblut, along with team members Vera Kress and Sebastian Berk, 10th-grade students embarked on an interdisciplinary journey combining Economics, Computer Science, and Ethics. The "Startup-Schmiede" project empowered students to identify real-world problems and develop AI-driven solutions, fostering critical thinking and ethical considerations in technological innovation.
Through this initiative, students showcased remarkable creativity and problem-solving skills, resulting in innovative solutions such as:
-
"Sort’em": An AI-powered system designed to enhance waste separation on school grounds.
-
"Sesamo": An application aimed at promoting healthier eating habits among users.
-
AI-Driven Submarine: A conceptual design for a submarine utilizing AI to explore and analyze marine biodiversity.
These projects not only highlight the students' technical abilities but also their commitment to addressing societal and environmental challenges.
A Community Effort
This achievement is a reflection of the collaborative spirit that permeates our school. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all teachers who inspire and guide our students daily, and to the students whose enthusiasm and dedication bring such projects to life. Your collective efforts continue to foster an environment where innovation and ethical responsibility thrive.
Looking Ahead
The recognition of the "Startup-Schmiede" project underscores the importance of integrating technology, ethics, and entrepreneurship in education. As we celebrate this success, we remain committed to providing opportunities that prepare our students to navigate and contribute positively to an ever-evolving world.
