GISSV Families Cheer on the San Jose Earthquakes

A day of soccer, community, and unforgettable experiences at the Quakes vs. St. Louis City SC match.

On Saturday, September 20, GISSV families and friends from across the Bay Area gathered at PayPal Park to support the San Jose Earthquakes as they faced St. Louis City SC. While the Quakes fought hard and finished 1–3, the stadium atmosphere was electric.

A special highlight for our students was the opportunity to participate in the High Five Tunnel before the game, greeting the players as they entered the field. Adding to the excitement, some of them even overheard German being spoken by St. Louis team members. This came as no surprise, as the St. Louis roster includes several German and Swiss players such as Roman Bürki (Switzerland), Eduard Löwen (Germany), Jannes Horn (Germany), and Timo Baumgartl (Germany).

It was a fantastic day that combined the thrill of professional soccer with the spirit of our school community.
