GISSV Student Among Finalists in Intl. Vorlesewettbewerb

Emma has been named one of eight finalists worldwide in the International Reading Competition for German Schools Abroad.

Congratulations to Emma (6a), who has advanced to the final round of the Internationaler Vorlesewettbewerb 2024/25—the International Reading Competition for German Schools Abroad.

Earlier this school year, Emma won our campus-wide competition as part of the first round of the international contest. You can read more about her achievement in the original article from Fall. She then moved on to the next round by submitting a three-minute video reading. Her entry was evaluated by a panel of expert juries in February, and she was selected as the top reader in her group.

This year, around 60 German Schools Abroad from 47 countries participated in the competition. Each school selected its best reader in the fall, and the school winners were invited to submit videos for jury evaluation in the winter.

Emma is now one of just eight students worldwide to reach the final round. In May, she will compete against fellow finalists from São Paulo, Madrid, Milan, Zagreb, Nairobi, Taipei, and Tokyo-Yokohama.

We are proud of Emma’s outstanding achievement and wish her all the best as she prepares for the finals.
