About
- Welcome to GISSV
  The German International School of Silicon Valley is an independent, nonprofit preschool–grade 12 school with two locations in the San Francisco Bay Area.
- Learning in German and English
  Our high-quality dual-immersion education helps students reach their full potential in a stimulating environment that fosters critical and imaginative thinking, a passion for lifelong learning and an appreciation for cultural diversity.
Admissions
- Meeting Students’ Needs From Preschool Through High School
  GISSV welcomes students of all cultural and ethnic backgrounds. We serve students from two to eighteen years old.
- Enrollment
  The enrollment period begins during the months of January and February of each year for the upcoming school year. We also accept new students throughout the school year based on availability. Knowledge of the German language is required for all children who enroll after 1st grade (See also our German Fast Track Program).

  Our well-balanced program provides rich project-based and differentiated learning experiences, fostering interests across all subject areas as well as social-emotional competency, critical thinking, artistic expression and physical motor skills.

GISSV Walk-a-thon 2026: Community in Motion

Students, staff, and families came together across campuses for a joyful Walk-a-thon supporting community, movement, and meaningful causes.

Last week’s GISSV Walk-a-thon once again brought our school community together in an inspiring celebration of movement, connection, and shared purpose. Across all campuses, students from preschool to high school laced up their shoes to walk, run, and support important charitable initiatives.

The event was organized by our Student Council (SV) together with SV teachers and supported by dedicated staff members, seniors, and parent volunteers. A special thank-you goes to SV students Eli and Eva, and liaison teachers Mrs. Schloetter, Mr. Mohamoud, and Mrs. Troy for their leadership and commitment in making this event a success.

Throughout the day, students showed incredible energy and enthusiasm while contributing to causes that matter. From campus tracks to shared activities, the Walk-a-thon highlighted the strength of our community spirit and the joy of coming together for a good cause.

And of course, a special highlight once again: the Easter Bunny made an appearance, spreading smiles and cheer along the way

Donations are open until May 15 for those who would like to contribute.

As we head into Spring Break, we thank everyone who helped make this event possible and celebrate the impact created—step by step, together.
