GISSV's 25th Anniversary Gala & Auction

GISSV's 25th Anniversary Gala & Auction

The GISSV community came together for a memorable evening at the 25th Anniversary Gala & Auction, raising over $172,000 in support of financial aid.

The German International School of Silicon Valley (GISSV) celebrated a major milestone with its 25th Anniversary Gala & Auction at Nia Hotel. The evening brought together current and former community members, alumni families, and special guests to commemorate the school's achievements and raise funds for financial aid. Thanks to the generosity of attendees, the event raised over $172,000 (net), making both the silent and live auctions a great success.

The program featured inspiring speeches by German Consul General Oliver Schramm, Head of School Dr. Wolfram Schrimpf, Board President Shamala Hinrichsen, and Gala organizer Supriya Solbach. A highlight of the evening was a special panel discussion with alumni Sarah Hesse (Class of 2009) and Francis Beckert (Class of 2021), who reflected on their experiences at GISSV and the lasting impact of the school on their lives. Later, Sarah Hesse shared personal insights as a member of one of GISSV’s founding classes and its first graduating class.

In addition to in-person speakers, the event included video messages from former community members, adding to the sense of connection and shared history. Among the distinguished guests were German Consul General Oliver Schramm and his wife, Deputy German Consul General Franciska Obermeyer, as well as representatives from Zollner and the Excelsior German Center.

A special moment of the evening came when Dr. Wolfram Schrimpf, GISSV’s new Head of School, personally helped raise over $12,000 through auction items—a remarkable start to his time at the school.

The success of the event would not have been possible without the dedication of organizers, volunteers, and supporters. Special recognition goes to Gala Chair Supriya Solbach (MV PA President) and Anne Razavi (MV PA Representative) for their leadership, as well as all those who contributed to the event’s success, including auctioneer Rachel Britten (KLM Auctions), DJ Rima Mutreja (SF Parents Association President), and numerous parent and student volunteers.

The 25th Anniversary Gala & Auction was more than just a fundraising event—it was a celebration of GISSV’s past, present, and future. Thank you to everyone who made this evening unforgettable.
