About
- Welcome to GISSV
  The German International School of Silicon Valley is an independent, nonprofit preschool–grade 12 school with two locations in the San Francisco Bay Area.
- Learning in German and English
  Our high-quality dual-immersion education helps students reach their full potential in a stimulating environment that fosters critical and imaginative thinking, a passion for lifelong learning and an appreciation for cultural diversity.
Admissions
- Meeting Students’ Needs From Preschool Through High School
  GISSV welcomes students of all cultural and ethnic backgrounds. We serve students from two to eighteen years old.
- Enrollment
  The enrollment period begins during the months of January and February of each year for the upcoming school year. We also accept new students throughout the school year based on availability. Knowledge of the German language is required for all children who enroll after 1st grade (See also our German Fast Track Program).

A surprise end-of-year reveal introduced students across both GISSV campuses to Goldie, the first-ever costume of the school's beloved Golden Eagle mascot.

Our Students ended the school year with an exciting surprise as they gathered for special assemblies at our San Francisco and Mountain View campuses.

As the song Fly Like an Eagle played, anticipation filled the air. Moments later, Goldie made a grand entrance, bringing GISSV's Golden Eagle mascot to life for the very first time.

The Golden Eagle has long been a symbol of GISSV, representing our athletic teams and our community's shared values. With the introduction of Goldie, that symbol has now become a lively ambassador for school spirit, ready to inspire students and bring excitement to campus events for years to come.

Students welcomed Goldie with enthusiastic cheers, high-fives, dancing, and a brand-new school chant, making the mascot's debut a memorable celebration on both campuses.

Goldie represents the qualities we strive to foster in every member of our community: strength, courage, kindness, and the confidence to soar to new heights together.

The project was the result of many months of collaboration. We extend our sincere thanks to Kika Knaup, Fashion and Knitwear Designer and GISSV parent, who customized the costume especially for GISSV, and to the PLC team whose creativity and dedication helped bring Goldie to life.

We look forward to seeing Goldie become a familiar face at school events, athletic competitions, celebrations, and community gatherings for many years to come.
