Grade 7 Anti-Drug Awareness Day

Grade 7 Anti-Drug Awareness Day

Seventh graders explored the impact of drug use through interdisciplinary learning and a visit from local police officers.

Yesterday, 7th graders from our Mountain View and San Francisco campuses came together for a meaningful Anti-Drug Awareness Day. As part of an interdisciplinary collaboration between Biology and Ethics, students examined the physical, mental, and social effects of drug abuse.

Through thoughtful discussions and creative poster projects, students engaged deeply with the topic—reflecting on risks, consequences, and the importance of making informed choices.

A special highlight of the day was the visit from Police Officers Giuliana Leopold and Pablo Donato from the Mountain View Police Department. Sharing real-life experiences from their work, they offered valuable perspectives and answered students’ questions. Using impairment goggles, they also provided a hands-on activity that demonstrated how substances can affect perception, coordination, and decision-making.

The day offered students not only knowledge, but also practical insights to support responsible and healthy choices.
