- Welcome to GISSV
  The German International School of Silicon Valley is an independent, nonprofit preschool–grade 12 school with two locations in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Admissions
- Meeting Students’ Needs From Preschool Through High School
  GISSV welcomes students of all cultural and ethnic backgrounds. We serve students from two to eighteen years old.
- Enrollment
  The enrollment period begins during the months of January and February of each year for the upcoming school year. We also accept new students throughout the school year based on availability. Knowledge of the German language is required for all children who enroll after 1st grade (See also our German Fast Track Program).

Exploring Careers and Research in Medicine

We had the honor of hosting Dr. Beate Illek, Adjunct Prof. in the Department of Pediatrics, School of Medicine, UC San Diego, in our Career and Study Orientation class.

In a captivating and enlightening BeSO (Berufs- und Studienorientierung) session, she shared insights into her remarkable career journey as a scientist, delving into the current state of her cystic fibrosis research. Moreover, she shed light on her voluntary role as an AHDA Advocate, advocating for migraine research.

Our 11th-grade students gained valuable perspectives on career paths and research endeavors during this special lecture. A heartfelt thank you to Dr. Beate Illek for her visit and for generously imparting her wealth of experiences to our students!
