About
- Welcome to GISSV
  The German International School of Silicon Valley is an independent, nonprofit preschool–grade 12 school with two locations in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Admissions
- Meeting Students’ Needs From Preschool Through High School
  GISSV welcomes students of all cultural and ethnic backgrounds. We serve students from two to eighteen years old.
- Enrollment
  The enrollment period begins during the months of January and February of each year for the upcoming school year. We also accept new students throughout the school year based on availability. Knowledge of the German language is required for all children who enroll after 1st grade (See also our German Fast Track Program).

Inventors and Explorers in NuG Class

In NuG (Natur & Gesellschaft = Nature & Society) the students of grade 4b are learning about "Erfinder und Entdecker" (inventors and explorers) and how prizes like the Nobel Prize were awarded for trailblazing inventions.

Thank you to Stanford Associate Professor and GISSV parent Dr. Marius Wernig for visiting our 4th graders in the virtual classroom.

Dr. Wernig is an Associate Professor of Pathology at the Institute for Stem Cell Biology and Regenerative Medicine at Stanford University and the winner of the 2018 Ogawa-Yamanaka Stem Cell Prize. He was selected for his groundbreaking research in cellular reprogramming and stem cell–based therapies for genetic disease.
