We have the pleasure to pass on the invitation from Chargée d'Affaires a.i. of the U.S. Embassy in Berlin Robin Quinville.
Written by Head of School, Kathrin Roeschel
During my years in Berlin, I have had the distinct pleasure to be invited to the U.S. Embassy for their Fourth of July celebrations. It always was a special honor to attend and I am delighted to have the opportunity to share this year's invitation with my new community at the GISSV.
Like all recent events, this year's celebration has moved online.
No matter where you are in the world, we can still celebrate INDEPENDENCE together, especially since we celebrate and value 75 years of German-American partnership this year as well.
It is also my great pleasure and special honor to not only introduce my good friend Robin Quinville to you that was named Chargée d'Affaires a.i. of the U.S. Embassy in Berlin this June, but also to share her words to our community with you.
Happy 4th of July!
A special message from Chargée d'Affaires a.i. in Berlin Robin S. Quinville to the GISSV school community:
From my current home in Berlin to my home state of California,
a very happy Independence Day!
This July 4th is even more meaningful because it also marks 75 years since the end of World War II and celebrates 75 years of German-American partnership. German-American ties run deep; 50 million Americans claim German roots, and our core values – the things that make us who we are – such as belief in the freedom of speech, press, and assembly, are values we share and have nurtured over the past seven and a half decades. And we celebrate them today, albeit virtually, so please join us for some pretty cool musical acts and one amazing fireworks show.
