Job Shadowing Fair: Learning from Real-World Experience

Students in Grades 9–11 shared insights from their social service and work placements and explored different career paths through peer exchange and a guest speaker.

Students in Grades 9–11 recently took part in a Job Shadowing Fair, reflecting on their experiences from their social service and work placements last May and sharing what they learned with their peers.

The event began with a guest presentation by Kaelan Yim, a Computer Science student at UC Berkeley. Kaelan shared his personal journey and experiences with the students, offering insights into his path from school to university and his field of study.

Following the presentation, students had the opportunity to exchange experiences from their placements. They introduced their workplaces and areas of activity and shared what they had learned about different professional environments and fields.

The Job Shadowing Fair gave students an opportunity to look beyond the classroom, learn from each other's experiences, and explore different possibilities for their own future paths.

A special thank-you to Cornelia Guss for organizing the event and creating this opportunity for students to connect their school experience with the world of work.
