- Welcome to GISSV
  The German International School of Silicon Valley is an independent, nonprofit preschool–grade 12 school with two locations in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Admissions
- Meeting Students’ Needs From Preschool Through High School
  GISSV welcomes students of all cultural and ethnic backgrounds. We serve students from two to eighteen years old.
- Enrollment
  The enrollment period begins during the months of January and February of each year for the upcoming school year. We also accept new students throughout the school year based on availability. Knowledge of the German language is required for all children who enroll after 1st grade (See also our German Fast Track Program).

Jugend debattiert - North America Finals

Congratulations to Fiona H. (class of 2025) who achieved 2nd place at the North America Finals of the German debate competition Jugend debattiert.

The youth debate in North America is a project of the Central Agency for German Schools Abroad (ZfA) and the Gemeinnützige Hertie-Stiftung - and is supported by the German Embassy Washington.

"We are very proud!" emphasized Head of School (interim) Thomas Spahn who presented the certificate to Fiona yesterday. Since he has supported the debate project since the initial conception and pilot phase - when he was a staff member at the Goethe Institute in Prague in 2004 - it is a matter very close to his heart.
