About
- Welcome to GISSV
  The German International School of Silicon Valley is an independent, nonprofit preschool–grade 12 school with two locations in the San Francisco Bay Area.
- Learning in German and English
  Our high-quality dual-immersion education helps students reach their full potential in a stimulating environment that fosters critical and imaginative thinking, a passion for lifelong learning and an appreciation for cultural diversity.
Admissions
- Meeting Students’ Needs From Preschool Through High School
  GISSV welcomes students of all cultural and ethnic backgrounds. We serve students from two to eighteen years old.
- Enrollment
  The enrollment period begins during the months of January and February of each year for the upcoming school year. We also accept new students throughout the school year based on availability. Knowledge of the German language is required for all children who enroll after 1st grade (See also our German Fast Track Program).

Math Marathon Success at GISSV

GISSV students achieved record-breaking results in this year’s Lange Nacht der Mathematik, advancing further than ever before!

Last Friday, on November 22, while students across Germany participated, GISSV students from grades 5–12 gathered at the Mountain View campus for the Lange Nacht der Mathematik. From 8 AM to 3 PM, they tackled challenging problems, with some staying as late as 11 PM to push even further!

The 5th/6th grade teams, participating for the first time, advanced to Round 2 and nearly solved all 10 tasks. Teams from grades 7/8, 9/10, and 11/12 made it to the final Round 3. Impressively, the 11th/12th grade team secured 36th place, while the 9th/10th grade team earned 43rd place, placing both in the top 5–10% among 510 participating German schools!

A big thank you to our wonderful parents for their support and enthusiasm and to the math department for organizing this inspiring event. This milestone—GISSV’s best result yet—was achieved through outstanding teamwork by students, teachers, and parents alike!
