Mathematik-Olympiade - Record Participation in Round 2

A total of 59 students from Grades 5–11 qualified for the second round of the Math Olympiad—more than ever before.

Last week, the second round of the Mathematik-Olympiade (Math Olympiad) took place across both GISSV campuses: on Tuesday in Mountain View and on Wednesday in San Francisco. A total of 59 students from Grades 5–11 qualified to participate, marking a new record for our school.

During the competition, students worked through four challenging problems over the course of four hours. This was a significant test of endurance and concentration, especially for the younger participants, who approached the task with impressive commitment and perseverance.

We congratulate all students on their strong efforts and look forward to seeing how they progress. The next round will take place at the end of February and will include two four-hour exams across two days—a considerable challenge that the qualified students are preparing to meet.
