About
- Welcome to GISSV
  The German International School of Silicon Valley is an independent, nonprofit preschool–grade 12 school with two locations in the San Francisco Bay Area.
- Learning in German and English
  Our high-quality dual-immersion education helps students reach their full potential in a stimulating environment that fosters critical and imaginative thinking, a passion for lifelong learning and an appreciation for cultural diversity.
Admissions
- Meeting Students’ Needs From Preschool Through High School
  GISSV welcomes students of all cultural and ethnic backgrounds. We serve students from two to eighteen years old.
- Enrollment
  The enrollment period begins during the months of January and February of each year for the upcoming school year. We also accept new students throughout the school year based on availability. Knowledge of the German language is required for all children who enroll after 1st grade (See also our German Fast Track Program).

Navigating the Future: Career Days for Grade 11

Last week, our 11th-grade students stepped out of the traditional classroom to explore diverse career and academic pathways during the school's annual Orientation Days.

Last week, the 11th-grade students took part in the school’s dedicated Study and Career Orientation Days, gaining valuable, firsthand insights into life after graduation. The two-day program was designed to help students navigate the transition from high school to higher education and the professional world.

Day 1: Learning from Industry Professionals

The week kicked off on Monday with a series of dynamic information sessions. Guest speakers from a wide range of professional fields visited the school to share their personal career journeys, daily routines, and industry experiences. This format gave students the unique opportunity to ask direct questions and gain realistic perspectives on various career tracks.

Day 2: Experiencing University Life

On Tuesday, the focus shifted to higher education as the 11th grade traveled to Santa Cruz. The day began with a guided campus tour, providing students with a clear impression of university life, infrastructure, and academic environments. Following the tour, a panel discussion featured current university students who openly discussed their daily routines, fields of study, and individual university experiences.

A Community Effort

These impactful days were organized and accompanied by Jenny Jungeblut and Cornelia Guss, who ensured the program ran smoothly.

The school community extends its sincere gratitude to all the professionals and university students who generously volunteered their time to inspire and guide the next generation.
