International Reading Champion

International Reading Champion

Nila B. (Grade 6) won the International Reading Competition "Vorlesewettbewerb" for German Schools Abroad, earning first place among students from German schools worldwide.

We are delighted to share exceptional news from the International Reading Competition for German Schools Abroad (Vorlesewettbewerb für Deutsche Auslandsschulen), a prestigious contest organized by the Börsenverein des Deutschen Buchhandels that promotes reading fluency, expression, and a sustained love of literature among students worldwide.

The competition brings together students from German schools abroad who first qualify through school-level contests. Their performances are recorded and submitted to an international jury, which evaluates reading fluency, interpretation, expression, and overall presentation.

After winning the school competition last November, Nila B. (Grade 6) advanced to the international round, where she delivered an outstanding performance. Her expressive and confident reading impressed the jury and earned her first place in the international final.

This marks a remarkable achievement for our school community: for the second consecutive year, the international title goes to a GISSV student.

We warmly congratulate Nila on this outstanding success and are proud to see her talent, dedication, and love of reading recognized at an international level.
