Racing into Summer: Formula 1 Exhibition and Final Race

3rd and 4th graders put creativity and engineering to the test in this year’s Formula 1 project—concluding with an exciting final race and a win for Team Torpedo!

On June 18, our 3rd and 4th grade Formula 1 students took over the Mountain View multipurpose room to present the results of their weeks-long project: a showcase of teamwork, design thinking, and engineering ingenuity. From sleek car models and custom team logos to detailed project planning, the students impressed classmates, teachers, and families with their hard work—and topped it all off with a thrilling final race.

A big congratulations goes to Team Torpedo, who took home first place in the final showdown!

This hands-on learning experience was part of our Begabtenförderung (Gifted and Talented Program), and students were nominated to participate based on outstanding performance and engagement in their homeroom classes. The project was made possible thanks to generous contributions to our Annual Fund.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to all donors who help make special enrichment opportunities like this possible. If you’d like to support programs like the Formula 1 project, there’s still time—the Annual Fund runs through June 30.

We’re proud of our students’ accomplishments and look forward to continuing the Formula 1 project next year!
