About
- Welcome to GISSV
  The German International School of Silicon Valley is an independent, nonprofit preschool–grade 12 school with two locations in the San Francisco Bay Area.
- Learning in German and English
  Our high-quality dual-immersion education helps students reach their full potential in a stimulating environment that fosters critical and imaginative thinking, a passion for lifelong learning and an appreciation for cultural diversity.
Admissions
- Meeting Students’ Needs From Preschool Through High School
  GISSV welcomes students of all cultural and ethnic backgrounds. We serve students from two to eighteen years old.
- Enrollment
  The enrollment period begins during the months of January and February of each year for the upcoming school year. We also accept new students throughout the school year based on availability. Knowledge of the German language is required for all children who enroll after 1st grade (See also our German Fast Track Program).

School-wide Sommerfest & Auction 2022

What a FUNtastic 'Sommerfest & Auction' event it was! A wonderful opportunity to celebrate together with all GISSV families and teachers/staff.

Our Kibili, Elementary and Middle School students from both campuses have put together an entertaining musical program and parents and children danced together on the Middle School court or enjoyed the delicious food in the meanwhile: GISSV catered German style bratwurst, traditional style Mexican street tacos, and savory falafels. In addition, the cultural diversity that exists within the GISSV community was displayed with international foods that GISSV families brought to share. The children had fun playing and the families could visit the art exhibition created by Middle and High School students from MV and SF. It showcased what the students have been working on during the school year.

In addition to our online auction that started a week in advance, we welcomed Rachel Britten, auctioneer from KLM Auctions, Friday night for our first live school auction in three years. Four beautiful handmade wreaths made from paper flowers - made by each student/staff member from MV and SF - were featured in the live event and auctioned off to GISSV families. We had one each made from MV Kibili (Preschool & Kindergarten), MV Elementary, MV Secondary School, and SF Campus. Parent volunteers Mira Bach, Suzanna Holz, Claudia Schmitz, and Kerry Wingeier worked with art teachers Stefanie Wenk and Christiane Meschkat to bring the student art wreaths to life! Dankeschön!

Thank you to the Sommerfest & Auction organizers Anja Seibt, Darlene Wiedemann, Jerome Bragdon, Supriya Solbach, and Michael Nielsen and all the helping hands: our fantastic parent volunteers and our amazing maintenance team as well as the administration. And thank you to our local families who've supported our auction with their item donations - and last but not least a special thank you to everyone who participated in our Online Auction and our Live Auction event Friday night. Together, we raised over $30,000 to support campus improvements in MV and SF!
