Students and Parents of our San Francisco Campus once again decorated a Christmas tree for the annual Deck the Hall event at the San Francisco Symphony.
GISSV San Francisco had the honor of decorating a Community Day sponsor tree at the SF Symphony Hall in December. Students from Kibili to Middle School, worked hard to hand make the ornaments for the 18 foot Christmas tree with premier placement on Orchestra level with the City Hall in the background.
"As a German International School, we wanted to capture the light, kindness, and joy the holiday season brings with our decorations for the SF Symphony tree. The Kindergarteners made faux candles to bring light to this festive season; and it is also a German tradition to put candles on Christmas trees! The elementary school children sewed snowflakes on felt hearts by hand to demonstrate kindness. The middle schoolers painted traditional glass heart ornaments with Edelweiss on one side and various holiday messages in German on the other side" parent volunteer Ingrid Freyinger said.
The decorations were made in a collaborative effort led by parents Allie Summers for the Elementary School and Kerry Wingeier and Ingrid Freyinger with the middle schoolers. The tree was once again a favorite at the SF Symphony. 60,000 concert goers viewed the beautiful arrangement in the month of December!
Thank you! The tree looked amazing. 🎄
