- Welcome to GISSV
  The German International School of Silicon Valley is an independent, nonprofit preschool–grade 12 school with two locations in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Admissions
- Meeting Students’ Needs From Preschool Through High School
  GISSV welcomes students of all cultural and ethnic backgrounds. We serve students from two to eighteen years old.
- Enrollment
  The enrollment period begins during the months of January and February of each year for the upcoming school year. We also accept new students throughout the school year based on availability. Knowledge of the German language is required for all children who enroll after 1st grade (See also our German Fast Track Program).

Shadowing Fair 2025: Exploring Future Career Paths

GISSV students presented their internship experiences at this year’s Shadowing Fair, joined by keynote speaker Joseph Smarr on the future of work and Artificial Intelligence.

Today, September 12, our 9th–11th grade students shared insights from the internships they completed last school year at the Shadowing Fair. Their presentations highlighted valuable experiences and offered a glimpse into the many career paths that may lie ahead of them.

We were also honored to welcome Joseph Smarr—a GISSV parent and Principal Engineer at Shopify with many years of experience across the tech industry—as our keynote speaker. His talk on Artificial Intelligence and its impact on the future of work set an inspiring tone for the event.

We would also like to sincerely apologize for misspelling Joseph Smarr’s name in the last two newsletter issues.
