GISSV Shark Tank Event 2023

GISSV Shark Tank Event 2023

Our GISSV Entrepreneur Club headed by Martin Lentzen invited the school community to a Shark Tank event on Tuesday - with impressive student pitches, and fantastic speakers and panel.

We are thrilled about this year's Shark Tank event at our school. We would like to extend a special thank you to the Sharks Travis Heneveld, Markus Lipp, Oliver Wagner, and Holger Ippach. It was truly inspiring to hear from Travis Heneveld on the important intersection of technology and social innovation and from Holger Ippach, who introduced the program of the German Accelerator.

We were also blown away by the impressive pitches from all of the participating startups, who tackled a diverse range of important issues such as mental health, fast fashion, and food waste. However, we were particularly excited to see two startups with fully functioning products and paying customers. The winner of the event, Nils Fl. had coded an impressive 30,000 lines of code in just 12 months and created the most comprehensive Minecraft analytics tool on the market. It is equally impressive to see that his product-market fit has already been validated by his first customers who subscribed. Congratulations also to the second prize winner, Naveen K, Jayden P. and Kilian F., who have created the “wAIr,” a website that allows its customers to design personalized T-shirt using AI. Two teams tied for third place: Dash D., Anna P., and Milla T. developed a working prototype of an AI-generated recipe app, “MyKitchen.”  Fiona H. and Julia K. developed the startup idea of the “Scribble” app, which helps students with dyslexia to accelerate the process of learning how to write.

It was amazing to see so much innovation and creativity on display, and we can't wait to see what these talented entrepreneurs achieve in the future.
