GISSV hosted a dynamic Sharks German Night at SAP Center, featuring a 5-3 win for the San Jose Sharks and a special appearance by Nico Sturm.
GISSV once again took the lead in organizing the Sharks German Night at the iconic SAP Center in San Jose, uniting the vibrant Bay Area German community for an unforgettable evening of hockey festivities!
The night unfolded on Saturday, January 20, with an exhilarating victory for the San Jose Sharks against the Anaheim Ducks, securing a triumphant 5-3 win. Amidst the thrilling game, GISSV families, staff, and friends collectively cheered on the home team. The esteemed Sharkie even made an appearance, making rounds to the section where our enthusiastic group of over 160 people was seated.
The group night surpassed expectations with exclusive giveaways and unique experiences. Eighteen lucky individuals seized the opportunity to enter the High-5 Tunnel, enthusiastically cheering on the players as they took to the ice before the game commenced. Post-game, the festivities continued as everyone was invited onto the ice for a collective group picture, capturing the essence of the memorable night. A special acknowledgement and gratitude go to Sharks center player Nico Sturm (#7), who not only graciously stopped by to capture unforgettable moments in pictures with our group. It's worth noting that Nico Sturm is a distinguished member of the German men's national ice hockey team, which clinched the silver medal at the 2023 World Championship. The entire night proved to be an extraordinary experience!
