About
- Welcome to GISSV
  The German International School of Silicon Valley is an independent, nonprofit preschool–grade 12 school with two locations in the San Francisco Bay Area.
- Learning in German and English
  Our high-quality dual-immersion education helps students reach their full potential in a stimulating environment that fosters critical and imaginative thinking, a passion for lifelong learning and an appreciation for cultural diversity.
Admissions
- Meeting Students’ Needs From Preschool Through High School
  GISSV welcomes students of all cultural and ethnic backgrounds. We serve students from two to eighteen years old.
- Enrollment
  The enrollment period begins during the months of January and February of each year for the upcoming school year. We also accept new students throughout the school year based on availability. Knowledge of the German language is required for all children who enroll after 1st grade (See also our German Fast Track Program).

  Our well-balanced program provides rich project-based and differentiated learning experiences, fostering interests across all subject areas as well as social-emotional competency, critical thinking, artistic expression and physical motor skills.

Over 140 gifts donated by our community and hands-on volunteering by our GISSV Interact Club brought holiday magic to Bay Area families in need.

Family Giving Tree Donation Drive

A heartfelt thank you to all students, parents, and staff who generously contributed to our Family Giving Tree donation drive! Your kindness made a difference in the lives of children and adults in need across the Bay Area.

Thanks to your efforts, we collected and donated over 140 gifts! In early December, Ms. Kranzler delivered the donations from the San Francisco campus, while Ms. Jungeblut brought the Mountain View gifts to the Family Giving Tree warehouse. These thoughtful contributions will bring smiles and comfort to many during the holiday season.

GISSV Interact Club Volunteering at the Warehouse

In the final week of school, ten dedicated members of the GISSV Interact Club, led by Nicolas from grade 11, stepped up to sort and wrap presents for underserved families in the Bay Area. Their efforts ensured that these carefully chosen gifts would reach their recipients in time for the holidays.

This year, the Family Giving Tree aims to distribute 45,000 gifts to bring a bit of holiday magic to those in need. While many children dream of toys and games, nearly half of the wishes are for essentials such as warm coats, cozy blankets, toiletries, and school supplies—items that provide comfort and dignity.
