About
- Welcome to GISSV
  The German International School of Silicon Valley is an independent, nonprofit preschool–grade 12 school with two locations in the San Francisco Bay Area.
- Learning in German and English
  Our high-quality dual-immersion education helps students reach their full potential in a stimulating environment that fosters critical and imaginative thinking, a passion for lifelong learning and an appreciation for cultural diversity.
Admissions
- Meeting Students’ Needs From Preschool Through High School
  GISSV welcomes students of all cultural and ethnic backgrounds. We serve students from two to eighteen years old.
- Enrollment
  The enrollment period begins during the months of January and February of each year for the upcoming school year. We also accept new students throughout the school year based on availability. Knowledge of the German language is required for all children who enroll after 1st grade (See also our German Fast Track Program).

Student Exchange Chile: An Unforgettable Experience

GISSV students had the opportunity to visit our partner school in Chile for a three-week exchange, creating memories that will last a lifetime.

As part of our longstanding student exchange program, GISSV students visited our partner school, Deutsche Schule Valparaíso, for a three-week exchange during the spring break.

After hosting their Chilean exchange partners in January, Emma, Karina, and Leonidas from Grades 9 and 10 made their return trip to Chile. Staying with host families, they formed lasting friendships, explored the local culture, and had the chance to experience life in one of the most beautiful coastal cities in the world. The students enjoyed delicious food, discovered the impressive campus of Deutsche Schule Valparaíso, and spent time by the beach, making the most of their cultural exchange.

A heartfelt thank you goes to GISSV teacher Céline Schapeler for organizing this incredible opportunity and making the exchange possible for our students.
