SV Penny Wars Fundraiser - Results

Thank you to all students and teachers for participating in the fundraiser organized by student representatives (SV)!

Organizers Toshiyuki J. and Anton S.A. (11th grade) said "Thanks to each and every one of you, the SV managed to collect just over $1000 and more than 5000 pennies at our Mountain View Campus! $600 dollars of the raised funds will go to the Mountain View homelessness charity Hope's Corner - enough to provide for 200 nutritious meals.

We are happy to announce the resounding victory by the elementary school, with middle school coming in close second. The prize, an ice cream party, will be distributed in the coming school days!"

To express Hope’s Corner’s appreciation, board member Phil Marcoux was on hand for the Penny Wars concluding event on Monday, October 24 to say "Dankeschön GISSV students and parents for your generosity"!

Would you like to help even more?

Students 16 years and over looking for volunteer opportunities (or students 13+ accompanied by a parent): Hope's Corner loves having students volunteer on Saturdays.

Also, for younger students, Hope's Corner's breakfast guests love to receive their meals in decorated bags. Decorating bags is a great way for students to let loose their creative talents and show some unexpected love. Click here (under “Other Items”) for infos about the size and kind of bags used.
