About
- Welcome to GISSV
  The German International School of Silicon Valley is an independent, nonprofit preschool–grade 12 school with two locations in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Admissions
- Meeting Students’ Needs From Preschool Through High School
  GISSV welcomes students of all cultural and ethnic backgrounds. We serve students from two to eighteen years old.
- Enrollment
  The enrollment period begins during the months of January and February of each year for the upcoming school year. We also accept new students throughout the school year based on availability. Knowledge of the German language is required for all children who enroll after 1st grade (See also our German Fast Track Program).

Virtual Visit by German Author Guido Kasmann

Our San Francisco third graders enjoyed a special visit from Fiete Hering, the protagonist of a book, as the author conducted an online reading session for them.

Class 3c is currently reading across subjects, focusing on the NuG (nature and science class) theme of Oceans and Marine Pollution. In their German class, they were diving into the book "Fiete Hering - Abenteuer im Müllmeer" (adventures in the Trash Sea) by Guido Kasmann. As part of this exciting journey, the author himself visited the class online from Germany last week. He read passages from his book to the children and even performed a little puppet show with the characters from the story.
