About
- Welcome to GISSV
  The German International School of Silicon Valley is an independent, nonprofit preschool–grade 12 school with two locations in the San Francisco Bay Area.
- Learning in German and English
  Our high-quality dual-immersion education helps students reach their full potential in a stimulating environment that fosters critical and imaginative thinking, a passion for lifelong learning and an appreciation for cultural diversity.
Admissions
- Meeting Students’ Needs From Preschool Through High School
  GISSV welcomes students of all cultural and ethnic backgrounds. We serve students from two to eighteen years old.
- Enrollment
  The enrollment period begins during the months of January and February of each year for the upcoming school year. We also accept new students throughout the school year based on availability. Knowledge of the German language is required for all children who enroll after 1st grade (See also our German Fast Track Program).

Welcoming Exchange Students from Chile

Students from our partner school in Chile have arrived for a three-week exchange. They are excited to experience life in California with their host families.

Last weekend, we welcomed five students from our partner school, Deutsche Schule Valparaíso (DSV) in Chile, to our Mountain View campus. On Monday morning, our interim Head of School, Dr. Alexandra Blank, greeted them, marking the start of their three-week exchange program.

The students are eager to experience school life at GISSV and immerse themselves in California culture. Thanks to the warm hospitality of their host families, they are already feeling at home.

This exchange program strengthens our partnership with DSV and offers valuable cultural learning experiences for both visiting and hosting students. Our GISSV students are looking forward to their return visit to Chile during spring break, where they will get to experience life at DSV firsthand.

We are excited about the connections and friendships that will grow from this exchange and look forward to the weeks ahead!
